Utøya har en helt unik historie, både som et verksted for politisk utvikling, men også som åsted for Norgeshistoriens verste terrorangrep.

Vi ønsker å gi både våre internasjonale og norske gjester muligheten til å besøke Utøya for å bedre kunnskap om terrorangrepet og det som har blitt gjort på Utøya for skape en ramme for å diskutere demokrati, ekstremisme og hvordan barn og unge kan bidra til å skape en bedre verden. Besøket vil inkludere omvisning på Utøya, besøk i og workshops knyttet til tematikk rundt demokrati og ekstremisme og besøk på minnesmerket og læringssenteret Hegnhuset.

Hvis vi får stor påmelding til deltagelse på Utøya vil vi prioritere en bredde i organisasjoner som deltar.

The first day is designated to learning about the history of Utøya, both as a place for youth activities and activism, but also one of the locations exposed to the right-wing terrorists’ attacks 22nd of July 2011.  

Today, Utøya is a place for commemoration, learning, engagement, and participation. The island is full of life, but should also be treated with respect, as it is a place for remembering the 69 lives we lost there in 2011.  

Visiting Utøya can be an emotional excursion, and all reactions are welcome here. Some people get very affected, others come to learn, but do not have an emotional reaction at all. There is no right or wrong reaction at this place. In case you would like to talk with someone about your experience at the island, please contact one of the organizers. We are here to support you when needed!  

Program 

The bus from Oslo will leave at 09:00 sharp from outside the Opera house (Operagata). There is a parking spot for busses that should be visible if you stand by the bridge for entering the Opera. You should meet at least 10 minutes before departure.
