Finding it hard to engage your audience? Do you want to reach out to a different crowd with your agenda? What about trying theatre?

The techniques and methodologies used in theatre are many, but the underlying principle of interaction and participation makes it a unique system of communication.

This workshop will introduce you to techniques, methodologies and principles that you can use at both an individual and at an organizational level to engage people in pushing forward an agenda, gaining support, creating awareness or simply entertain your audience as a way to foster social inclusion.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • How you can use theatre for development in your organization’s work
  • Various techniques and methodologies used in theatre

There will be a bit of theory, but the whole course is intended to be very highly participatory with a lot of discussion and a bucketload of laughter.

This workshop suits everyone interested in communicating a particular message in a new way. This is a TFD-workshop for beginners. You do not need to have any former experience with theatre to participate.

    Experienced trainers

The training will be held by the Kenyan participants in our exchange programme Right to Participate. They all have a lot of experience from working with theatre as a tool in advocacy work, on topics from radicalization to hiv/aids.
