International Exchange Participant

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PARTICIPANTS FOR OUR EXCHANGE PROGRAM!

Do you want to develop in an international context and contribute to our work with young people in Tanzania or South Africa? Apply for CHANGE and become part of our multicultural community!

It all starts with a leadership course in early August, and then all participants go to South Africa for an introductory course with 4 participants from Tanzania and 6 from South Africa. The 6 Norwegian participants who will be deployed in South Africa will remain, while the 4 participants who will go to Tanzania travel there, and then work at the South Africa YMCA / Ilula YWCA for the next 6 months.

In South Africa, they work with youth rights, gender identity and societal influence, among other things. In Tanzania, there is a strong focus on women’s rights and opportunities, leadership training for young people and entrepreneurship. In March, all the Norwegian participants will return to Norway, and will be deployed at our Change House, where they will participate in the work until May and work with their Tanzanian and South African colleagues. Each Change House has different focus areas, but everyone works to ensure that young people are seen, heard and confirmed!

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Have a separate focus area that you follow throughout your stay
• Be an ambassador for the organization and link the work we do in Norway to the work that is done in our partner countries

We would very much like to be able to use what you can and your experiences into the work, whether it is photography, dance, finance, digital platforms or other

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Interest in international issues and intercultural communication and interaction
• Experience from international environments is a plus, but not a requirement
• Experience with youth work (or volunteer work) is a plus, but not a requirement

WE OFFER

• Good follow-up from both Norwegian and local coordinator throughout the year

NB: The following expenses are covered:

• Travel insurance
• Board and lodging
• Return ticket to and from your host organization, including transport to the gatherings before and after departure for the exchange
